Obsidian is the mysterious glass that Samwell, Grenn and Edd stumbled on, while out on patrol. Now, I can't really get into a long, detailed post, out of respect for people who visit my blog that haven't read more then two of the Game of Thrones books.
What I can say is that Samwell has a direct link to the Obsidian. You will just have to read "A Storm of Swords" to find out what the connection is! Cheers!
